Harold's First Autumn

Harry is a young dog. We're not sure exactly how old he is but probably a year plus a few months. It occurred to me that this is his first autumn--at least as a grown dog. This explains why he is so fascinated by the falling leaves. He cautiously watches them and then gently approaches as they hit the ground to take a sniff.

Fall is such a wonderful season, and Harry has been so great about reminding me of that. He really has inspired me to take time to smell the roses--or the leaves as the case may be. Harry is so sweet and he and other dogs like him have a strange way of helping us put things in perspective.

Harry would love to find a family that he could cozy up to as autumn rolls into winter.

What's Harold up to these days?

So Harry has had such a good few days. He loves going to the park and hanging out with the other dogs. He likes to try to get other dogs to play. Earlier this week he was playing with a Scottish Deerhound. If you've never seen one of these, they are enormous. Harold thinks it looks more like a human in a dog costume, and with Halloween right around the corner, it's not that far fetched. It was cute to watch, but when Harold got the big dog excited he realized he got more than he bargained for and started playing with dogs more his size.
